How To... Add YouTube Videos to Your Page

Embed YouTube clips in your Pepperio pages.

It is easy to add YouTube videos to your Pepperio site, but as this requires viewing and editing the page content as html, it might put some non-developers of. Don't worry though, no editing of html is required, just the ability to copy and paste text.

1. Find your YouTube clip and copy

Head over to YouTube, and alongside the clip you want to display on your page is a line of text labelled 'embed'. Copy this code. Because the script you have just copied is not written to be xhtml 1.0 strict (the doctype used by Pepperio) compliant, you will then need to edit this in an html editor before using.

2. Paste into Pepperio

On the Pepperio page you want to insert the clip, open the Editor, flip into html mode, and paste the line of code. The clip will now be rendered to the page. If this code is inserted into a page that is going to be constantly opened for editing you will notice that the text editor may well parse and remove some lines of code instead. In which case, drop the script into its own non-editable snippet/component.
