Starting Off

Making sense of a different way of working

This section is intended to provide an overview of getting started with Pepperio. The first point to clarify is that Pepperio has not been designed for the design and conceptual development of web pages. While it is possible, there are better tools on the market with greater suitability for that purpose. What Pepperio does offer though is the opportunity for html/css developers to build a dynamic cms solution based on static page designs. If you know xhtml and css, Pepperio should be easy - once you understand how it works.

Here is an overview of the topics in this section to help you get up and running...

1. Setting Up a Site

Information aimed at those persons in a reseller organisation who are responsible for setting up sites for their clients.

2. Document Workflow

Understand the chain inside Pepperio from the delivered xhtml page back through templates, layouts, components, snippets and tags.

3. Components

Components are the elements that tie your static xhtml layouts to the dynamic code units that provide the cms functions. In this section is a comprehensive run down of how components are written, explanations of where to use them, and definitions of the all the attributes.

4. Creating a Page

The seven steps explained to take your static page designs and convert them to the pages that form part of a dynamic, content managed solution. Within 30 minutes you should be building Pepperio pages!

And, in case you were not aware, we also offer one-day developer workshops to get new developers up and running with the product straight away. At only £199, and with no more eight candidates max per workshop, these offer great value for money if you want to maximise the revenue from your Pepperio site. More information on the workshops is available on Pepperio.com.
