The Page won't publish

Why won't my page publish?

Problem:

Every time I try to publish the page, the version number of the page on the development server increases, but the page won't publish and there is no version number for the staging or live servers.

Fix:

Check in the page properties that the page expiry date is not set to a date that has passed.
